Artificial intelligence will feature heavily at ADIPEC 2026, where executives from technology and energy companies will discuss how AI is being used in industrial operations, energy infrastructure and investment. The event takes place in Abu Dhabi from November 2 to 5, with executives from Siemens, Honeywell, AVEVA, Cognite, Siemens Energy, AIQ, Schneider Electric and SandboxAQ among those scheduled to speak.
The discussions come as AI is creating new demands for the energy industry while also giving companies tools to improve existing operations. Figures from the International Energy Agency cited by ADIPEC estimate that wider use of existing AI applications could deliver up to US$110 billion in annual power generation savings by 2035 and unlock as much as 175 GW of additional transmission capacity from existing power lines. At the same time, the growth of AI and data centers is increasing demand for electricity.
AI will feature across ADIPEC's conference program, including a dedicated AI, Digital & Technology Innovation Strategic Conference covering automation, predictive analytics, asset optimization, cybersecurity and data infrastructure. Sessions will also examine the investment and infrastructure needed as AI use expands and data centers require more power.
"Industrial AI delivers the most value for energy systems when intelligence is engineered into infrastructure at its core, including the grids, industrial systems and buildings that keep economies running day to day. These systems need to perform reliably under pressure, whether they were built decades ago or are under construction today. Scaling that requires sustained investment, deep engineering expertise and closer collaboration between the energy and technology sectors. ADIPEC brings those partnerships together, turning technological progress into resilient, real-world performance." said Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens AG
Interest in the subject is also visible in ADIPEC's Technical Conferences. AI & Digital Transformation received 1,296 abstract submissions, the highest number among the technical categories. The technical program will cover engineering and operational developments across more than 200 sessions.
AI applications move onto the exhibition floor
ADIPEC's expanded AI Zone, co-hosted by AIQ, will show how companies are applying AI and robotics to energy and industrial operations. Demonstrations will cover reservoir modeling, autonomous control, infrastructure inspection, grid management and subsea robotics.
Stone Ridge Technology will introduce an AI-native pre- and post-processing and workflow orchestration layer built around its GPU-based ECHELON reservoir simulation software. Honeywell will demonstrate AI-driven autonomous upstream operations through Honeywell Forge Upstream.
EY and Gecko Robotics will showcase robots designed to inspect assets such as pipelines and power plants. The systems combine physical inspection data with AI analytics to predict failures, assess asset life and support investment decisions. Sinaha will also demonstrate autonomous mobile robots already operating in its intelligent warehouses and plans to manufacture the robots at its UAE factory from the first quarter of 2027.
Invitation-only AI Leadership Roundtables will bring senior executives from the energy and technology industries together to discuss investment, infrastructure, governance and regulation around AI adoption.
“AI is opening up significant opportunities for the energy industry. The priority now is identifying which applications are worth backing and how to deploy them securely at scale. That takes more than technology; it requires engineering expertise, investment and commercial discipline. ADIPEC connects the people setting strategy and committing capital with those responsible for delivery, helping turn AI's potential into measurable improvements across energy systems.” said Christopher Hudson, President of dmg events, the organizer of ADIPEC
Hosted by ADNOC, ADIPEC 2026 will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi. The event will put AI applications in industrial operations alongside discussions about the electricity and infrastructure needed to support growing demand from the technology.
