The Tbilisi Finance Summit is returning to Georgia on October 27 and 28, bringing central banks, financial institutions, technology companies and investors together for discussions on the changing financial system. The summit is being organized by the National Bank of Georgia, Georgia's Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, and Singapore-based Global Finance & Technology Network.

The program puts financial regulation and technology in the same conversation, with cross-border payments, digital assets, stablecoins, tokenization, open banking and artificial intelligence among the subjects being discussed. Central bank officials from countries including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Albania and China are expected alongside executives from financial and technology companies, giving the event a broad regional focus.

Digital assets will take up a significant part of the program, with sessions covering virtual asset service provider regulation, stablecoins and tokenization. The discussions bring regulators together with companies working across digital assets and financial infrastructure, reflecting the growing focus on how these products can operate within established financial systems.

AI will receive similar attention, with the program looking at its use in financial services, including agentic systems and the questions around data, risk and governance that come with them. Executives from Georgia's major banks are also expected to discuss digital transformation and AI adoption as part of a wider conversation about the future of the country's banking sector.

The summit also has a concrete example from its first edition of the business activity that can emerge around the event. In 2025, Pave Bank announced a more than $39 million funding round led by Accel, with participation from Tether and other investors. Pave Bank is returning this year, with CEO Salim Dhanani listed among the speakers.

The 2026 speaker program includes National Bank of Georgia Governor Natia Turnava, senior officials from several central banks and executives from companies including Ant International, Nium, Pave Bank, Tether and Polygon Foundation. The organizers also list Mastercard, American Express, J.P. Morgan, UBS, Coinbase and Chainalysis among the attending organizations.

The summit comes as financial institutions are dealing with several changes at once. Banks are adopting AI and new digital infrastructure, payment companies are expanding the services they offer, while regulators are working on rules for digital assets and other technologies becoming part of mainstream finance. Bringing those groups together is a central part of the Tbilisi event, particularly as financial institutions across the region look at how new technologies can fit into existing systems and regulatory frameworks.

The Tbilisi Finance Summit will take place in Tbilisi on October 27 and 28.
