Lately with the adoption of agentic AI systems, all businesses are trying to ask the same question about who controls the entire AI stack. SUSE®’s latest expansion with NVIDIA reflects that shift, combining agent security, private infrastructure, and next-generation compute. This can give enterprises more control over how AI systems execute, access data and scale into production.
SUSE's new capabilities enable enterprises to adopt Private Enterprise AI while maintaining complete operational control, security, and governance over their systems. The update integrates the NVIDIA OpenShell Reference Architecture, bringing together NVIDIA Vera Rubin infrastructure for model inference, NVIDIA Vera CPUs for agent execution, and NVIDIA BlueField-4 DPUs for independent monitoring and policy enforcement.
As a launch partner for the OpenShell Reference Architecture, SUSE is helping deliver an open, industrial-scale architecture for building, isolating, observing, and governing autonomous AI agents with enterprise-grade security. By leveraging Kubernetes sandboxing and API gateways alongside OpenShell, SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA provides a governed environment that controls agent execution while maintaining peak performance.
Available with SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA, the latest release introduces zero-trust agent security via the NVIDIA OpenShell Reference Architecture alongside SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) for NVIDIA. The solution is designed to deliver immediate support for next-generation NVIDIA silicon. Together, these innovations provide a unified, enterprise-ready foundation for developers to build production AI applications and autonomous agents, platform engineering teams to deploy them, and enterprise IT to govern them across any footprint.
"As autonomous AI agents and next-generation silicon advancements reshape enterprise operations, AI sovereignty becomes non-negotiable," said Dr. Thomas Di Giacomo, Chief Technology and Product Officer at SUSE. "By combining enterprise Linux engineered for bleeding-edge hardware with active agent security, SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA OpenShell equips IT teams to scale AI rapidly while keeping proprietary data, system availability, and budgets strictly under their control."
SUSE is also extending the program beyond its own infrastructure through a new two-tier ISV certification program. The “Ready for” and “Certified for” structure is designed to bring pre-validated partner softare into SUSE AI Factory, giving enterprises a clearer path to deploy third party tools without having to rebuild integrations from scratch. The first group includes Klique by ClearML, Tensormesh, Traefik Labs, AlchemiStudio, Wiser Technology and CloudCasa by Catalogic, covering areas such as AI control planes, inference optimization, runtime governance, cost management and backup.
The company is also pushing sovereign infrastructure into a more experimental layer through a new partnership with Fujitsu. SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA and NVIDIA CUDA-Q will run on Fujitsu servers to support hybrid quantum workloads, with the aim of making quantum computing easier to manage within existing enterprise environments. Rather than treating quantum systems as a separate research stack, it is designed to bring them closer to the operational tools teams already use. This solution is expected to be available in late 2026.
Both these moves showcase SUSE’s sovereign AI strategy that is becoming broader than just infrastructure. The focus is on building an ecosystem where enterprises can bring in validated software, emerging compute models and new AI capabilities while keeping governance and operational control closer to home.
