At Biban Global, Tech Revolt spoke to Abdulaziz Alasiry, E-Commerce Director at Monsha’at, about the organisation’s mission to empower small and medium enterprises across Saudi Arabia. As SMEs represent the backbone of the Kingdom’s economy, Monsha’at continues to expand its support services to ensure these businesses can start, scale and compete in a rapidly evolving market.

Monsha’at offers free guidance and resources for entrepreneurs and SME owners, spanning one-to-one consultations, skill-building workshops and direct links to service providers who can support everything from digital transformation to operational growth. These efforts, Alasiry says, are designed to eliminate traditional barriers for small companies and give them the tools to succeed from day one.

One of its flagship programmes, Tomoh, has already produced major success stories. The accelerator helps high-potential SMEs expand their operations and prepare to enter the Saudi stock market. “We have multiple companies that began with this programme five years ago,” says Alasiry. “Today, they have progressed to IPO stage and are now publicly listed in Saudi Arabia.”

Public–private collaboration plays a key role in these success stories. As new technologies reshape business models globally, Monsha’at actively engages partners from both local and international markets to introduce innovative solutions to SMEs. This approach is highly visible at Biban, where Monsha’at’s e-commerce zone brings together global experts and service providers offering the tools needed for small businesses to expand their reach.

A core focus for Monsha’at is helping traditional retailers embrace the shift toward hybrid and digital commerce. Through new initiatives, SMEs are being supported to adopt omni-channel business models that enable them to sell both in person and online. “This helps companies expand their customer base beyond geographical boundaries without having to open new physical branches,” says Alasiry.

Alongside front-end transformation, Monsha’at also steers SMEs toward backend digitisation, such as modern inventory and sales management systems—ensuring businesses can operate more efficiently as they grow.

Entrepreneurs looking for support can access Monsha’at’s services through its digital platform, Nawafi, which offers consultation bookings, training opportunities and access to support programmes. Meanwhile, at events like Biban, business owners have a direct opportunity to meet industry experts and explore partnerships that can accelerate their development.

As Saudi Arabia advances its Vision 2030 goals, Monsha’at’s role in enabling innovation and fostering growth within the SME ecosystem is becoming increasingly vital—helping local companies step confidently into a more competitive and digital future.
