Dynatrace, the leader in AI-powered observability, today announced that Bank Muscat has deployed the Dynatrace® platform to launch Oman’s first enterprise Command Center in the banking sector. The initiative is designed to strengthen operational resilience and accelerate incident response across the Sultanate’s largest bank.
Since the deployment, the Command Center has reduced the Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) incidents by more than 80%, frequently identifying issues in five minutes or less. By consolidating over 20 fragmented monitoring tools into a single unified platform, Bank Muscat has fundamentally transformed its approach to service assurance.
From Reactive to Proactive Operations
The Command Center, located at the bank’s headquarters, provides a centralized view of core banking systems, payment channels, and customer-facing applications. This model leverages AI-driven insights to replace manual monitoring with real-time analysis, allowing teams to move away from "firefighting" toward preventative engineering.
“The Command Center has enabled us to operate from a single, unified data view that empowers our teams to anticipate issues before they escalate,” said Mohammed Saud Al Naamani, Deputy General Manager Business Applications at Bank Muscat. “We’ve shifted from reactive incident response to proactive service assurance; strengthening resilience, enhancing customer experience, and delivering measurable improvements. This is not just an operational upgrade; it’s a foundation for smarter, faster, and more reliable service delivery in the future, with a strong commitment to provide better services for our customers every day.”
Building Internal Capability
The Command Center is staffed by a specialized team of observability engineers and automation experts. This disciplined operating model reduces reliance on external vendors and fosters long-term internal expertise. Notable achievements include:
Reduced Alert Noise: Faster diagnosis during high-traffic periods like payday.
Standardized Response: Streamlined detection protocols that free up capacity for innovation.
Improved Reliability: A more stable foundation for the bank’s expanding digital estate.
“Bank Muscat’s Command Center is a strong example of AI-driven observability and how it can support the day-to-day operations in a large and complex digital environment,” said David Noël, VP for the Middle East and Africa at Dynatrace. “By bringing together data from multiple applications, infrastructure, and user experience, and overlaying AI, Dynatrace helps teams understand what is happening in real time and respond more quickly when issues arise. This gives Bank Muscat a more reliable operational foundation and supports a gradual shift toward more predictive and automated ways of working as its digital services continue to expand.”
Looking ahead, Bank Muscat aims to transition toward predictive operations, exploring machine learning for automated anomaly detection and "zero-touch" remediation.
