The global security industry is undergoing a fundamental shift, moving away from reactive surveillance models toward intelligent, AI-powered and data-driven systems designed to deliver real-time insights. That transformation will be in sharp focus at Intersec Dubai 2026, where Axis Communications is set to showcase technologies shaping the next phase of safety, security and smart operations across critical industries.

Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the 27th edition of Intersec will take place from 12 to 14 January 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre. The event brings together policymakers, security professionals, technology providers and innovators from around the world to explore how intelligent protection and cross-sector collaboration are redefining the future of safety.

For Axis Communications, Intersec represents more than a technology showcase. The company’s participation reflects a broader industry shift towards analytics-driven systems that move beyond monitoring to enable informed decision-making at the edge.

“Across the Middle East and Africa, we are seeing a fundamental shift in how organizations view surveillance. It is no longer just a safeguard - it is becoming a core driver of business efficiency, resilience and informed decision-making,” said Loubna Imenchal, Managing Director for Middle East, Türkiye, Central Asia and Africa at Axis Communications. “At Intersec, we will showcase how intelligence at the edge is redefining what’s possible for security, operations and smart environments.”

Axis’s presence at Intersec Dubai 2026 also coincides with the 20th anniversary of its operations in the UAE. The Dubai office, which serves as the regional headquarters for the Middle East and Africa, has played a central role in the region’s transition from analogue surveillance to IP-based systems, and more recently toward cloud, hybrid and AI-enabled architectures.

At the exhibition, Axis will highlight advances in edge analytics, deep learning and unified platforms designed to transform how organisations respond to security and operational challenges. Demonstrations will focus on AI-powered devices capable of generating actionable insights directly at the source, reducing latency, bandwidth usage and system load.

Among the technologies on display are new PTZ, dome and outdoor network cameras built on the ARTPEC-9 system-on-chip, introduced in late 2024. The platform enables advanced edge processing, enhanced imaging, lower bitrates and strengthened cybersecurity, forming the backbone of Axis’s expanding AI-driven portfolio. The company will also showcase smart sensors, including air quality monitoring solutions, alongside AI-optimised servers supporting hybrid deployments.

Beyond devices, Axis will demonstrate how integrating video, audio, access control, radar and analytics into a single platform enhances situational awareness. Use cases will include network audio, radar-based detection and body-worn solutions designed to improve accountability and evidence quality.

A key theme at Intersec will be collaboration. Axis’s open-platform approach enables interoperability with third-party technologies, and the company will be joined by partners spanning traffic solutions, AI-driven surveillance software, live streaming applications, edge AI analytics, solar-powered infrastructure and large-scale systems integration.

“Collaboration is central to innovation,” added Imenchal. “Our open ecosystem allows us to combine strengths with world-class partners, bringing new capabilities to market and shaping the future of intelligent security.”

As organisations increasingly adopt hybrid architectures, Axis will also address cybersecurity, sustainability and total cost of ownership. The company will highlight how embedded AI, secure firmware and continuous system hardening are reducing risks at the edge while delivering long-term operational value.

Axis will further contribute to industry dialogue through participation in a panel discussion at the Intersec Access Control Centre, examining emerging technologies and the future of intelligence-driven security.

“A pivotal element of progress is understanding real-world needs - and ensuring people remain at the centre of innovation,” concluded Imenchal. “Through our strong partner ecosystem and expert teams, we aim to create safer, more resilient and more intelligent environments for communities and businesses across the region.”
